Hard-up Christina has signed up for medical experiments and has been selected to try out new experimental anesthetic agents. She is gowned up and fitted with monitors and defibrillator pads - in case there are adverse affects on her heart. The company has four different agents to test and want her to live long enough to test as many as possible! A full report will be filed on Christina's reaction to each agent...
Prior to administration of the agent, the subject was administered with a mild sensitive that kept her calm. The subject was nevertheless fully responsive with all reflexes functional.
The subject accepted the mask without flinching or struggle and induction using Agent A commenced at 5% concentration...
The subject described a not-unpleasant pear-drops odor and the vapor easy to breathe
Signs of stage 1 analgesia were observed after 30 seconds...
At 45 seconds the subject retained reflexes and consciousness but became unable to move or speak...
At 1 minute the subject entered stage 3 (delirium) anesthesia, and later reported that everything went "misty" and she felt "floaty and wobbly", then her last memory as the "everything spinning"
At 45 seconds the subject entered stage 4 (surgical) anesthesia...
At 90 seconds, all voluntary-muscular reflexes had ceased, marking the end-point of the induction.
The subject's head was tilted back to keep the airway clear in the absence of the choke reflex.
The anesthetic was then turned off and the subject given pure oxygen until reflexes returned, at which point the mask was withdrawn to observe recovery.
The subject began to stir 20 minutes after oxygenation...
At 30 minutes from oxygenation the subject was able to speak.
Agent A shows excellent potential with easy pleasant induction, a paralysis that prevents struggle and rapid recovery.
