Christina undergoes general anesthesia with the third experimental agent...
The subject woke in the morning feeling slightly ill and complained of a taste in her mouth of onions. Clearly Agent B is expelled and metabolized only slowly from the body.
Nevertheless, it was decided that the day's trial of Agent C should proceed.
The premedication seemed to have a particularly potent effect today - the subject felt "trippy".
As induction of Agent C commenced, the subject reported a "sweet and sickly" odor.
The subject went into the analgesia phase very rapidly, in around ten seconds...
Within fifteen further seconds, the subject became very quiet and became unable to move or speak...
At 45 seconds from commencement of induction, the subject entered stage 2 (delirium phase) anesthesia
At 60 seconds from commencement of induction, the subject entered stage 3 (surgical level) anesthesia.
At 90 seconds from commencement of induction, all voluntary reflexes ceased and the airway had to be supported. The anesthetic was ceased at this point...
After 30 seconds on pure oxygen, reflexes returned and the mask could be safely removed.
The client woke rapidly, ten minutes after mask withdrawal.
Agent C was very potent and fast-acting, and also wore off quickly, so would be excellent for mask inductions and where anesthesia must be induced rapidly. There may some issues maintaining prolonged anesthesia due to high potency, which may cause long-term toxicity issues.
