ree — The very latest in anesthesia technology - the Xenon anesthesia machine! Xenon is an almost perfect anesthetic gas, potent with low toxicity and completely odorless. The catch? It's HORRENDOUSLY EXPENSIVE - around 60 times the cost of Sevoflurane. Only very few places offer Xenon anesthesia, mostly in Russia, and expect to pay BIG money for the privilege.

ree — A wonderful cyclopropane anesthesia machine. Introduced in 1934, cyclopropane (in the orange cylinder) with its sweetish gasoline smell, was a powerful anesthetic gas good for pleasant mask inductions. Unfortunately it is EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE and EXPLOSIVE if ignited. In long procedures, it could cause sudden drops in blood pressure, causing v-fibs. It was phased out in the 1950's and generally replaced by Halothane.
